“Hello, Muffy? I just hit a deer.”
A colleague, who wishes to remain nameless, says she can’t believe the Town and County city council — which recently turned back an effort to ban people from using cell phones while driving — is serious about combating the suburban community’s deer problem.
“If they were serious, they wouldn’t want to ban cell phones,” my colleague said. “As it is, people talking on cell phones are more likely to smash their cars into deer. Apparently the deer aren’t that big of a problem.”

The problem with the cell phone ban is that it’s unenforceable. However, the deer issues could be taken care of fairly quickly.
How your friend connected “deer” with “cell phones” is unexplainable. But then again, you did say she was female. People on cells are more likely to crash into someone else before they ever hit a deer.
I think Muffy lives in Ladue, not Town and Country
All I know is back in the spring I nearly hit 2 of them heading west on Manchester after getting off of I-270 on a Saturday night.
.. and I was not drinking or on a cell phone….
and I have been in a collision with a deer before. Tt’s not fun.
You all need to take care of this.
I think a cell phone ban is easily enforcable. If the officer on patrol sees someone on a cell phone while driving, pull ‘em over and ticket them-or, better yet, confiscate the phone and make them come to some remote location to retrieve it after paying the fine. A few of these and word of mouth will take care of the rest. Of course, you have to get the officers off the cell phone first in order for them to make this bust.
