Breaking political news
In case your subscription to Runner’s World has lapsed, here’s a link to a long interview with Sarah Palin, who describes the joy of sweat. Don’t miss the part when she encounters a mother bear.
The use of the flagged-draped chair and the inward-hung Blue Star flag (for her son in the Army) as photo props is causing some conniptions on the Web. But the photographs are worth it.

Kevin Horrigan is deputy editor of the editorial page. He writes editorials on local, state and national politics and public policy and also contributes a signed column to the Sunday Commentary Page. "The Old Sport" is a former sports columnist for the Post-Dispatch and for 10 years hosted radio talk shows on KMOX and KTRS in St. Louis. -Breaking news? The only thing “breaking”, is the mind after this piece.
Where is the “news” part?
-Are you really on vacation Kevin, and this was just a phone-in?
Oh darn, I thought this was going to be the P-D finally reporting John Edwards’ and his videophotographer babe’s sex video:

Geez, Kevin, stop drooling for gosh sakes!
Here’s some REAL breaking news, about the BREAKING of the Canadian healthcare system that some at the Post-Dispatch, and not a few people in Washington, revere:

Hmmm… political snarkiness from the two-time endorser of Rod Blagojevich. You can’t make this up.
Have another donut.
Half-way protected outlet.
Crumby running shoes, w/ loose strings.
How does she run w/ all of that junk in her hand?
Nice tan legs, for Alaska.
What’s the matter, Kevin? No new photos of Michelle Obama’s arms in Muscle & Fitness?
Rohert: Since you are the one who continues personal attacks directed at me (even though I believe this is against the P-D’s “rules” of blogging, but that’s okay), I think it is YOUR sophomoric behavior that shows signs of high school “problems.” Apparently you could never get a HOT girl to go out with you. Didn’t you say you were physically unattractive? Once again, if you are a real man, I am willing to meet with you and discuss your personal issues with me. Where? When? This invite is open to all too.
Instead, the sad part of this blog post, is that the title is ironically true. This to the P-D really is breaking news. They have lost all sense of what really is breaking news. I have actually suggested they start a Palin Watch in the newspaper or even a Palin Watch blog.
Where is an editorial about Gibbs trying to giggle his way through another press briefing when challenged by (gasp!) Helen Thomas asking why all the WH events are staged with questions and participants? The media, P-D aside, is finally waking up to the shame Obamanation.
A Centrist… I apologize. Apparently I overstepped the bounds of propriety with that last post. Harking back to your high school days was an unfair tactic on my part. Most people change almost immeasurably between their high school years and the time they become actual adults. Once again, I apologize to you, as well as to everyone who had to attend high school with you.
Sorry, Kevin, for my sophomoric attempt at humor. It won’t happen again.
I like the photo. At least she doesn’t look like a flight attendant.

Too late.
