The use of the flagged-draped chair and the inward-hung Blue Star flag (for her son in the Army) as photo props is causing some conniptions on the Web. But the photographs are worth it.

Our country flag should never be displayed this way! This is shocking disregard for the symbol of our freedom and the people who have given their lives for the rest of us!
I think that they were trying to be funny, as if anything about Palin at this point would be considered breaking news. I also don’t think that there is anything wrong in the way the flag is displayed, she is trying to declare her patriotic feeling, still thinking of another office, I think. Even if she announced her desire to be President today, I would not consider that breaking news, more like ” Well Duh, why do you think she resigned as Governor.”.
