Republicans still love Palin

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin

Rasmussen is out with an interesting poll today. Check it out here.

In the poll, more than half of Republican respondents said the party should be more like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Only 11 percent said the party should be more like former President George Bush. Most Republican respondents said that the party is too moderate.

The poll apparently didn’t ask for specifics. It’s not mentioned whether respondents like Ms. Palin’s politics on fiscal or social issues, or whether they just like her.

The poll included Democrats. Not surprisingly, most Democrats thought the Republican Party was too conservative. But seriously, who cares? It’s not their party.)

What do you think of the poll? What do you think of the GOP? If you had new RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s ear, what advice would you give him?

Please give us specifics on Democrats polled, did they all like Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg of “The View” and think the Democratic party should be more like them? Helzfarr Jamie, it already is!

The GOP will tilt to the far right and lose worse in 2010 than Goldwater did in ‘64!

A “moderate Republican” will no longer exist like Jacob Javits, Chuck Percy, Lowell Weicker, or John Chafee who all went by the wayside. Too bad, leadership isn’t just the ability to have others dress you well, wink and make snarky soundbites with all your endin’ “g’s” dropped! You betcha!

I hope the GOP is idiotic enough to keep embracing this woman.

Talk about snarky, Ms. Hogan, aren’t those three sentences filled with a lot of love for your fellow man (or woman). Like any other ambulance chaser (that was uncalled for), you are thinking only of yourself. You want, desperately, for us to be like you. John Chafee ?!?!? Hey, you won. Don’t start dreaming about a democrat dynasty, until you have accomplished something…. anything. We still have a two party system, as nauseous as that makes you. Oh, and you are all smarmy.

I doubt if the statistics in the above poll are valid in predicting future votes. But, Gov. Palin may be in the future for the GOP. Senator McCain endorsed her for an important role on his ticket. If I had new RNC Chairman Steele’s ear I’d recommend he look internal to his party and get his own house in order.

Hogan - I recently saw a clip played on MSNBC of Obama endorsing Gov. Blago back in 2004. At the end of the clip the interviewer asked Obama a question and his response was, “You Betchya.” I think they have had the clip burned.

Though I am from a very Democratic family, I am a big fan of Sarah Palin’s populist defense of life and freedom. But she has to establish that she is smart enough to lead America.

Tim Hogan, have you written to President Obama asking him not to sign the Freedom of Choice Act?

By the way, how does anyone manage look that good at 44? I hate to think what the Presidency would do to such a beautiful lady.

The GOP will come back strong with the self destructing Dems in full control it’s a given and luck isn’t on Obama’s side like it was Clintons. This country is basically split between to ideologies. One group for government intervention and the other independence.

I’m a republican and I did not care for Palin but this country swings from one extreme to another. With Democrats having basically full control and with that they will exhaust their support rather quickly you will see someone like Palin having a chance at becoming president.
