Her future (well, her title) is in Trump’s hands

Whether Miss California Carrie Prejean keeps her title is up to Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump, according to this AP story. Trump has called a press conference for Tuesday. Prejean’s father said he is excited about the press conference, so it’s probably unlikely that Prejean will lose her crown.
Meanwhile, according to the LA Times, Miss California first runner-up Tami Farrell will represent the “Beauty of California” at official events. Apparently, Prejean has not been responsive to communications from Miss California USA officials, nor has she appeared at public events as required. The local officials said Prejean was in breach of contract and enetered the contest under false pretenses.
At issue are two things: semi-nude photos of Prejean taken when she was 17 and intended to land her lingerie-modeling jobs, and a public appearances on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group supporting maintaing marriage as bewteen a man and a woman. Both violate the terms of her contract with the pageant.
Prejean came to national attention when she was ridiculed for her response to a question at the Miss America Pageant. Because she is from California, where voters last year approved a ban on same-sex marriage, she was asked about same-sex marriage. She answered that she believed marriage should remain an option for heterosexual couples only.
Soon, she was being ridiculed all across the Web. Then the lingerie photos leaked. Then, to defend her point of view, she made public appearances with NOM,
Fox News reports that she now is the victim of character assassination, noting that a Village Voice columnist “likened her to … a Nazi war criminal.”
Is this all much ado about nothing? Or is this significant of a looming culture war over the rights of homosexual couples and other minority groups?

She crossed the line. You can ridicule Bush, Reagan, white men, Christians, the military, etc, but don’t EVER disagree with homosexuals, Muslims, or “Progressives”. She’s out, and the P-D will celebrate it, guaranteed.

I’ve read tons of web comments on the subject, and almost everyone saw the same thing I did: a 21-year-old girl had the courage to honestly answer before a national audience an utterly inappropriate ambush question posed to her by a vapid, crude little gnome, and she did so with the knowledge that her answer would probably cost her whatever chance she had of winning the competition.
Carrie Prejean had the audacity to state an opinion that happens to be shared by 70% of our population including president Obama, and when she did so, the pageant audience cheered. And when those who weren’t watching live heard the story, the great majority of them cheered too.
That the hyperbolic left and a degenerate media saw fit to portray this story as a raging “controversy” says all you need to know about their agenda, as does Jamie’s assertion that Prejean was subject to ridicule “all across the web.” Puh-lease.
And as for the Ms. Prejean’s “semi-nude” photos, I see racier stuff every time I walk by the Victoria’s Secret windows at the Galleria.
Just another breast-bearing exhibitionist trying to impose her wares and beliefs on others…sounds like a GOP-Evangelist pervasion plot to me.

She is being removed because she supports traditional marriage. She has a right to her opinion and the media is portraying her as some kind of monster. I’ve heard people comment that she is phony because she has fake bOObs and has posed for semi-nude photos. There wouldn’t be any beauty contests if you applied that standard to every beauty contestant.
As soon as Trump said she could stay today, she should have told them all to “stick it” and resigned.
Good for Trump for reminding all the Obama voters who hate Miss California that her position on gay marriage is the exact same one that Obama has stated. I just love the Democrat double-standard. Obama is a hero, she is vilified. Amazing!
Well she gets to keep her “crown” –the Donald has said so. She gave her impassioned tearful (not enough to smear her make-up) statement. This idiocy was carried on the “news channels”.
I thought there might be something of more importance going on in the world, but apparently this is the story for today.

Why are you always so pathetically childish and off the mark? I am very much an Obama supporter and of course, you realize that. I very much support this beauty queen and so do every Obama supporter that I have had discussion with concerning this issue.
I support her because the photos cannot hardly be considered nudity and it is just plain disingenuous for people, mainly feminists and other like people such as Olberman, the Black CNN lady mainly the liberal media to be so stupid as to think that anyone even believe that they truly believe that those photos are considered nude. I just hate it when such people think people are so stupid.
The pictures were very professionally done and were mere photo ops that are what you would categorize as SUGGESTIVE and NOT nude and for these little devil operatives to dare attempt to attached the label of liar to her is intentionally disingenuous or maybe they are just that twisted. I do not think that a Christian girl should pose in suggestive ways or even wear suggestive clothing but I once did but would not today and have not for a very long time now and very much of what I have done in the past has nothing to do with who I am today or what I do today. Just because she posed suggestively then has nothing to do with what she would be willing to do today. I certainly see nothing wrong with the pictures for one who is not placing Christ like behavior first and above all things.
Donald Trump made the right call and let the little gay crap disturbers or any of the rest of them attack Trump, my guess is they won’t because they don’t have big enough balls. (lol).
