Nancy: Fess up

What did Nancy know and when did she know it? Those questions are going to have to be answered by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and the sooner the better.

To avoid being a distraction from the debate on torture, Pelosi must be clear about when she learned of the “enhanced interrogation techniques” and why she apparently didn’t object to them.

Pelosi today claimed that she was given inaccurate or incomplete information.  She has said she was briefed on the EIT only once and did not know that the techniques were in use, just that they were being considered. Now comes word that Pelosi was told in 2003 that a detainee had been  waterboarded. She may have known about, and aprroved of, the EIT as early as 2002.

Hindsight, of course, is 20-20. But revisionism isn’t an option. She either knew or did not know and she either objected or she didn’t. Others who knew of the EIT, including the wiretapped Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., obejcted to the techniques in writing. Pelosi is not known to have made any formal objections.

Opinions on Pelosi:

The Nation here.

The Hill here.

U.S. News and World Report here.

How do you know when a politician is lying?

Their mouth is moving….

Look for some sort of deflection to draw attention away from this topic.

Not even the “editorial staff” of the Post Disgrace can defend San Fran Nan, the liar; THAT speaks volumes for how bad she is.

On a side note, it is somewhat satisfying to see the collective reaction of liberals over the CIA releasing (not leaking) information about one of their own. For 8 years, illegally leaking information was praise worthy on the left, but when information is legally released concerning their own, they claim outrage. How typical.

Where are all the libs saying we need to prosecute those in GOVT as war criminals?
It is really quite fascinating, it took the right about 10 years to screw things up and self destruct but in true Democrat fashion they can tax faster, spend much more faster and it appears begin the self destruct mode in only 3 months!

Pelosi is frustrating. She talks out both sides and unfortunately has some power. Who elected her? She is such a bs artist.

Nancy needs to step down. It has become about her. She has made it about her. There are too many important issues on the table. She needs to put the country first and step aside. She is so far out of the mainstream anyway that a fresh face could possibly be the precipitous for some cooperation between the parties. I give her a couple of weeks before Obama throws her under the bus.

It is satisfying to watch those that play with fire get burned.

So, with all of this “most ethical congress” stuff in mind, what percentage of congressionally-looted money from the wave of multi-trillions of paper fiat $s do you suppose will be explained away in press confs in coming years? Private A/F jets for all!

I can’t wait to see Pelosi being frog-walked out of the House chamber in handcuffs.

Pelosi lied, she should be tried.

How can this be? I thought Nancy had eliminated the culture of corruption on the Hill?
