MSNBC is reporting the the Obama administration has denied its request to see the White House visitors’ log. The Bush administration also blocked access to the log.

According to MSNBC, the White House also denied Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington’s request to see the log. CREW apparently will file suit to gain access to the records, MCNBC reports.

From MSNBC:

The Obama administration is arguing that the White House visitor logs are presidential records — not Secret Service agency records, which would be subject to the Freedom of Information Act. The administration ought to be able to hold secret meetings in the White House, “such as an elected official interviewing for an administration position or an ambassador coming for a discussion on issues that would affect international negotiations,” said Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt.

These same arguments, made by the Bush administration, were rejected twice by a federal judge. The visitor logs are created by the Secret Service and maintained by the Secret Service, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth ruled in 2007 and again this January. CREW had requested records of visits to the Bush White House, as well as the residence of Vice President Dick Cheney, by leaders of Religious Right organizations.

So when Obama promised transparency, what did he mean?

What did Obama mean by transparency? Let’s look at the definitions of transparent—

trans⋅par⋅ent  /trænsˈpɛərənt, -ˈpær-/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [trans-pair-uhnt, -par-] Show IPA
–adjective 1. having the property of transmitting rays of light through its substance so that bodies situated beyond or behind can be distinctly seen.
2. admitting the passage of light through interstices.
3. so sheer as to permit light to pass through; diaphanous.
4. easily seen through, recognized, or detected: transparent excuses.
5. manifest; obvious: a story with a transparent plot.
6. open; frank; candid: the man’s transparent earnestness.
7. Computers. (of a process or software) operating in such a way as to not be perceived by users.
8. Obsolete. shining through, as light.

Guess he could mean def. #2, as he see’s himself as God-like, Obviously transparency would be a characteristic of being God-like.

Wait, it’s got to be #7, operating in such a way as not to be perceived by others. Yeah, that’s got to be it.

Now then that mystery is solved, shall we move on to the fly killing incident, or just straight to the IG fiasco. You know you’re going to have to cover it, as it IS the biggest story of the year so far, so get on with it. Show us how “unbeholding to any party” you really are…
