Media discover God is good, as is sex.

Pastor Ed Young Jr.

In the beginning (last February) Pastor Paul Wirth of the Relevant Church of Ybor City, Fla., created the “30-Day Sex Challenge.”

Lo, did Pastor Wirth challenge husbands and wives in his flock to have sex for 30 days in a row, the better to understand each other’s “emotional needs.” And unto Pastor Wirth came a producer for CBS News, who did film a story on him. And it was good.

And word did reacheth the farthest corners of the earth, even unto Grapevine, Texas, where Ed Young Jr., pastor of the 20,000-member Fellowship Church did recognizeth a good marketing idea when he heard one. And unto Pastor Ed (as he prefers to be called) came a scribe for the Dallas Morning News, who wroteth on Nov. 11 a story about Pastor Ed’s “Seven Days of Sex” sermon, delivered not from a pulpit, but upon a bed in the sacristy.

“Sex is like Super Glue,” sayeth Pastor Ed. “It is a spiritual thing, an emotional thing.”

And lo, Pastor Ed having a television show in addition to a megachurch with JumboTrons casteth a very large shadow, which falleth upon a scribe for The New York Times, who did trekketh to Grapevine, hard by DFW Airport, from whence on Tuesday she delivered Pastor Ed’s advice to a national audience.

And lo, did Pastor Ed speaketh to The New York Times, “If you’ve said, ‘I do,’ do it.” And as for single people, “I don’t know, try eating chocolate cake.”

And verily, The Times’ story about Pastor Ed was the most e-mailed story of the day and went out to all the land.

And thus did we, too, writeth about it. And lo, God sayeth (we imagine), “The media are such suckers.”

This is just another example in a long line of how the Christians will use any method they can justify to get peoples attention in order to push their mind numbing messages. Sadly, if they try hard enough they can justify anything. Personally, as an atheist, you can have sex with your partner all day everyday and that is fine but don’t throw a god or something supernatural in there in something that is plenty good enough by it self.

Even with this “tongue in cheek” article the judgement upon different classes of persons is show between married and single. I find these as nothing more than a ’shock jock’ for god and shows that they are learning the marketing skills of Madison Ave.

I agree with Thomas. This lizard has gotten exactly what he wanted for himself and his church: media attention. Media attention = more $$$ in his personal checking account.

So many Christians and Christian leaders and teachers are becoming so sickening in their twisting of God’s inspired words (scripture).

This Ed Young appears to be a true weirdo and has for been for years now obsessed with sex and the sex lives of his flock. So disgusting having a bed on stage during his continuous sermons on the sex lives of couples. It is so inappropriate this pastor’s behavior.
