Scout out the possibilities by reading the 2008 edition of the GPO publication “United States Government Policy and Support Positions,” also known as the “Plum Book,” the contents of which are available online.
Self-described as follows:
Published by the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs and the House Committee on Government Reform alternately after each Presidential election, the Plum Book lists over 7,000 Federal civil service leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive branches of the Federal Government that may be subject to noncompetitive appointment, nationwide. Data covers positions such as agency heads and their immediate subordinates, policy executives and advisors, and aides who report to these officials. The duties of many such positions may involve advocacy of Administration policies and programs and the incumbents usually have a close and confidential working relationship with the agency or other key officials.
Eddie Roth writes about education, social justice, public safety, transportation, legal affairs and historic preservation. He joined the Post-Dispatch editorial page in 2008 after six years as an editorial writer with the Dayton Daily News. But he is not new to St. Louis. Who needs a job?
Obama’s gonna take care of us…..free healthcare, pay our mortgages, give us cars that don’t burn gas, increase unemployment, food stamps, free vacations on the south side of Chicago, and give us some money from those rich guys etc. etc. etc.
Hell, it’ll be just like Kenya.
