Quick look at MU Pro Day (unofficial)

Here’s a real quick recap on Pro Day.

Pro Day lasted about 4 hours in the Devine Pavilion and 14 players participated (if you don’t count Pig Brown, who was hanging around talking to scouts). There were a lot of scouts there. I saw guys from the Cowboys, Bears, Rams, Chiefs, Colts, Redskins, Panthers, Eagles, Giants and Titans. There were probably other scouts there, but we were on the balcony in the pavilion and it was difficult to see.

The numbers from Pro Day were not given out to the media. I basically went around and asked as many guys as I could find for numbers. I got 40 and heights and distances for the vertical jump and the broad jump. I don’t have any shuttle or three-cone times. These are not official. If I can find a comprehensive list somewhere I’ll be sure to get that out.

Here’s what I have from Pro Day. Some of these numbers came scout yelling them out, some came from the players. They are, of course, unofficial.

There you go Franklin, that’s why they call you helicopter. Smoked his 34.5″ he jumped at the combine. Shows scouts he can be an excellent red zone target.

Nice to see Temple have a good time as well. Would have liked to see how many reps Spieker and Luellen put up. Can’t wait to see how Rucker tests when he’s healed up.

That’s an excellent 40 time for Williams. Do you think that will move him into the draft?

Zo looked really good. He set personal records in every event and looked excellent in the linemen drills. The scouts were impressed, told him he still moved like a linebacker. However, Zo can’t compensate for his size. He’s on the small side. I’m not sure he’ll make it into the draft, but he’ll probably get a chance at someone’s camp just on his reputation.
