Two MU baseball players invited to national team trials
Sophomore pitcher Kyle Gibson and outfielder Aaron Senne were two of 32 collegiate players invited to USA Baseball national team trials on Thursday. The tryouts, held June 11 - 23, will determine the 22 players selected for the national team roster.
USA’s Baseball’s schedule includes a six-game friendship series against Chinese Taipei and a month-long trip to Europe where the team will compete in Haarlem Baseball Week in the Netherlands and in the IV FISU World Collegiate Baseball Championship in the Czech Republic.
The 2008 USA Baseball National Team is coaches by Oral Roberts University head coach Rob Walton. Jerry Meyers (head coach, Old Dominion University) will serve as pitching coach, and Nino Giarratano (head coach, University of San Francisco) and Ritch Price (head coach, University of Kansas) will serve as assistants.
