Daniel from 2004 courtesy of Rivals.comMissouri quarterback Chase Daniel was the last of six college quarterbacks to receive an invitation to coach last year’s prestigious Elite 11 camp. This year, Daniel received the first invitation to mentor 12 of the nation’s best high school signal callers in July.

Daniel, a Heisman finalist, All-American, and All-Big 12 player last season, will join fellow Elite 11 alumni Mark Sanchez (USC) and Matthew Safford (Georgia), and Colt McCoy (Texas) will help out at the three-day camp that begins July 21 in Aliso Viejo, Calif. Daniel and Sanchez were in the same Elite 11 class in 2004.

Daniel is the second MU quarterback to coach the camp in consecutive seasons. Brad Smith also coached the camp during the summers before his junior and senior seasons.

According to StudentSports.com, seven of the 12 quarterbacks have been chosen and all but one has committed. That list includes the nation’s top prep quarterback Matt Barkley, the Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.,) product who is committed to USC. According to the site, none of the current quarterbacks received offers from Mizzou.

Last season, Daniel used part of his Elite 11 trip to recruit Mizzou freshman Blaine Gabbert, who had committed to Nebraska in May. With five campers yet to be named, there’s no telling whom Daniel might target this year.

Is there any news on who is attending the camp and if they QB’s have picked where they are going to school?

This is just another outstanding tool for Mizzou to recruit the best skilled players in the country. Lovin’ it. Can’t wait till the Domination at the Dome. Let’s kick this national championship run off. Mor MU football news on stltoday.com the better.
