Gabbert injures shoulder
Freshman quarterback Blaine Gabbert from Parkway West High injured his shoulder Wednesday and underwent an MRI to determine the extent of the damage.
Gabbert, who was rated by Rivals.com as the country’s top pro-style quarterback coming out of high school, practiced in the morning but not in the afternoon.
An athletics department spokesman was unsure when or how the injury happened and didn’t expect to know results of the MRI until Thursday. Coach Gary Pinkel was not available to comment following the afternoon practice session.
