Ticket update
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Reserved seats are still available for Saturday’s game against Southeast Missouri and three other homes games (Nevada, Buffalo and Kansas State). General admission (hillside) and temporary bleacher seating are the only seats left for Oklahoma State and Colorado.
Also, a six-game season ticket package ($280) has seats left near the goal-line. Season-ticket sales are over 40,000 to break the school record of 34,874 from 2004.
This is our fourth year as season ticket holders. At Saturday’s game we had to abandon our newly purchased, officially licensed Mizzou chairbacks because of a new rule on their size (these were about an inch too long). I can understand imposing size limitations, but at no point did the athletic department warn ticketholders about this (chairbacks weren’t limited last year). In fact, there was nothing said about chairbacks at all on the list of “Dos and Don’ts” on this year’s tickets or the Mizzou website. There was, however, a big plug about renting seatbacks. I hope this isn’t a sign of what we can expect now that the team has started winning after years of mediocrity — the athletic department has become arrogant and chooses to treat loyal fans as objects of little respect — only there to fatten the athletic department coffers.
