Wendell Barnhouse, longtime college writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and now a correspondent for the Big 12’s website, has some interesting numbers this week relating to Mizzou. Among the highlights:

– The Tigers have scored on their first possession in all five games. The longest drive in terms of time was 4:42 in the opener against Illinois. The shortest was 59 seconds last week against Nebraska. The list

– In Missouri’s 48 possessions with Chase Daniel and the first-team on the field, the Tigers have scored 33 times (28 touchdowns), punted five times, lost four fumbles, had three drives end on downs, missed two field goals and one interception.

Ten of the top 20 quarterbacks in passing efficiency are on undefeated teams and those 20 teams with the top QBs have a combined winning percentage of .840. Only five of the top 20 rushers are playing for undefeated teams and the teams with the 20 top rushers have a combined winning percentage of .702. TheĀ  two Big 12 games Saturday that match 5-0 teams involve four of the top five quarterbacks in passing efficiency.
