It’s still two weeks until the first official BCS rankings are announced but we’re starting to get a clearer picture what it will look like. Another of the computer rankings used in the formula (Anderson) released its first set so that gives us five of the six computers used in the formula.

The BCS formula is one-third for ranking in coaches poll, one-third for ranking in Harris interactive poll, and one-third for the average of the six computer rankings. Using that formula with only five of the computer rankings produces the following standings:

1. Oklahoma (1st in coaches, 1st in Harris, 3rd in computer)

T-2. Missouri (2nd in coaches, 4th in Harris, 2nd in computer)

T-2. Alabama (4th in coaches, 3rd  in Harris, 1st in computer)

4. LSU (3rd in coaches, 2nd in Harris, 9th in computer)

5. Texas (5th in coaches, 5th in computer, 5th in computer).

A lot will happen between now and first official BCS rankings (Texas at Oklahoma this week and Missouri at Texas next week) so stay tuned.
