The Harris rankings for the week are now out and Missouri dropped to 11th from fourth in that poll, which is used as part of the BCS formula. The first BCS standings won’t be out until Oct. 19 and include the USA Today Coaches’ poll, the Harris poll and the average of six computer rankings.

A recap of each of the polls’ top 10s, plus Missouri today:

Harris: 1. Texas, 2. Alabama, 3. Penn State, 4. Oklahoma, 5. Southern Cal, 6. Florida, 7. Texas Tech, 8. BYU, 9. Georgia, 10. Oklahoma State and 11. Missouri.

AP: 1. Texas, 2. Alabama, 3. Penn State, 4. Oklahoma, 5. Southern Cal, 6. Florida, 7. Texas Tech, 8. Oklahoma State, 9. BYU, 10. Georgia and 11. Missouri

Coaches’: 1. Texas, 2. Alabama, 3. Penn State, 4. Southern Cal, 5. Texas Tech, 6. Oklahoma, 7. Florida, 8. BYU, 9. Georgia, 10. Oklahoma State, and 12. Missouri.

Since the BCS began in 1999, the lowest a team has been in the BCS rankings and still made the national title game was LSU when it was 12th in 2003.

MU, after Saturday’s game at No. 1 Texas, faces a favorable schedule the rest of the way. A win in Austin and a chance to move up as season progresses and some of the top team’s face each other. A loss in Austin and it may be tough to crack the top two although a spot in a BCS bowl by winning Big 12 title would still be within reach.
