As things stand now, the BCS rankings will be used to break the three-way tie in the Big 12 South and determine which team Missouri will play in Kansas City on Dec. 6 for the title and automatic bid to a BCS bowl (Fiesta or the national title game.)

Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech are all tied and each has one game left to play. (Sooners at Oklahoma State, Longhorns at home against Texas A&M and Red Raiders at home against Baylor.)

The BCS rankings won’t be out until Sunday evening but if you like exit polling, the first of the computer rankings are out and a bit of a surprise. Jeff Sagarin has Texas at No. 1, Texas Tech No. 2 and Oklahoma No. 4. (He has Missouri at No. 14)

Sagarin’s rankings are one of six computer rankings used as part of the BCS formula. The average of the six rankings counts one-third, the USA Today coaches’ poll counts one-third and the Harris poll counts one-third.

The USA Today poll is out about noon on Sunday and the Harris poll is out after 3. It will be fun to watch and see how it plays out.

Of course, upsets in the last week could alter the Big 12 South picture as well.

If Oklahoma State upsets Oklahoma, then it’s a two-way tie between Tech and Texas and the Red Raiders advance.

If Texas A&M beats Texas, then it’s a two-way tie between Tech and Oklahoma and the Sooners advance.

If Baylor upsets Texas Tech, then it’s a two-way tie between Texas and Oklahoma and the Longhorns advance.
