It will be Oklahoma or Texas vs. Missouri in Big 12 title game
Now that Oklahoma has defeated Oklahoma State, 61-41, the Big 12 South has finished in a three-way tie with the Sooners, Texas and Texas Tech. In the Big 12 tiebreaker procedures it will come down to which team has the highest BCS ranking.
Last week, it was Texas at No. 2 and Oklahoma at No. 3. Texas Tech was 7th. The Longhorns beat Texas A&M, 49-9, on Thanksgiving and Tech rallied to beat Baylor, 28-14, Saturday.
So that means its up to the polls and computers to see if Oklahoma will pass Texas. Tech won’t jump up.
That makes it either the Sooners or Longhorns vs. Missouri at Arrowhead on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
If it is Oklahoma, the Sooners beat Missouri twice last season and are on a roll with over 60 points in each of last four games.
If it is Texas, the Longhorns beat Missouri earlier this year, coasting after taking a 35-0 lead in the first half.
The other subplot to the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State game will be the Big 12 bowls. Assuming Missouri doesn’t pull the upset in the Big 12 title game to get the Fiesta Bowl, will the Holiday select the Tigers or Cowboys.
It would be a 9-3 Oklahoma State team vs. a 9-4 Missouri team and the Cowboys beat the Tigers head-to-head.
If the Holiday opts for Oklahoma State, the Tigers would probably wind up in the Alamo Bowl.
