Missouri 17th in coaches’ poll; Oklahoma second, barely
Reid Laymance
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The Tigers dropped to 17th in the coaches’ poll but the interesting move is at the top.

Oklahoma stayed second, but Texas moved from fourth to  third, just one point behind the Sooners.

This means that the BCS compulation is going to be pretty close and perhaps not a slam dunk for the Sooners. Whichever team is ranked higher between OU and Texas in the BCS will face Missouri in the Big 12 title game.

The top 10: 1. Alabama, 2. Oklahoma, 3. Texas, 4. Florida, 5. Southern Cal, 6. Penn State, 7. Utah, 8. Texas Tech, 9. Boise State, 10. Ohio State.

The Harris poll is the other human poll used in the BCS formula. It will be out later today.
