The Tigers had players drafted in the first round of the football, baseball and now basketball drafts this year.
Jeremy Maclin (Eagles, 19th) and Ziggy Hood (Steelers, 32nd) started it off in the NFL draft.
Kyle Gibson (Twins, 22nd) followed in the baseball draft. You can also count Aaron Crow, who went 12th to Kansas City after playing a year with Fort Worth of the Independent League.
And then Carroll, taken by the Grizzlies in the NBA draft.
Dave Reiter of the Missouri sports information department notes that the Tigers are the third Big 12 team to have managed that trifecta. Texas did it in 2006 and Oklahoma State in 2004.
