Big 12, Day 2: Pinkel on Derrick Washington
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
MU coach Gary Pinkel said the Tigers may run the ball more this season, and that means more of Derrick Washington:
“We want to get ball in his hands a lot. We are still going to do what we do, attack, go vertical. Without question, we will run the football a lot more. Devion Moore, too. They are the best 1-2 punch we’ve had at runing back since we’ve been here.”
Washington rushed for 1,078 yards, averaging 5.9 per carry, and caught 29 passes for 277 yards.
Moore gained 231 yards on just 41 carries.
