MU-Kansas hoops set for Big Monday on ESPN
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Missouri will be at Kansas in basketball for a Big Monday broadcast on ESPN on Jan. 25 the school announced today.
It is the 10th consecutive year the teams have faced each other on a Big Monday broadcast. Missouri won last season in Columbia, 62-60, on Zaire Taylor’s shot at the buzzer.
Texas and Kansas each have 4 Big Monday dates in Big 12 play. Oklahoma has three and Oklahoma State has two. Schools with just one are Missouri, Texas A&M and Kansas State.
Once again, MU is not getting the recognition they deserve, but maybe its for the best, so we can shock the world again. Don’t forget that we were 1 win from the Final four ( we really should’ve won that game) but anyway, Watch Out World, The Tigers are on the prowl MIZ-ZOU
I guess that combined 5-1 record against Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State wasn’t impressive enough to ESPN?
Can’t worry about whether you play in primetime during the regular season. Its about playing in prime time in March. And that is what the Tigers did last year and should do this year.
I also can’t be mad at ESPN, Texas, KU, and OU have been winning for the last decade and MU has been very inconsistent.
Monday night in Lawrence on the 25th… expect an upset. M-I-Z…
So when is the return game in Columbia?
They should bring back Quinn Snyder, he was a class act!
REALLY getting tired of the same pic of Carroll on the site for almost a month. Somebody, please, write an MU story that deserves a photo!
Should be yet another laugher in the Phog…
Nations longest current winning streak..
Ten straight over um in Lawrence…
Bill Self vs. um 13-3…
Kansas vs. HCMA 6-1

Yes, but you still live in kansas.
Sadly MoMarv, we are right here in the loo.
Do you assume all looians are mu fans???
Surely you jest.
Cheers,

We were surprised with mu’s singular Big Monday appearance as well… the suits at espn need more evidence, apparently.
Prof. JH theorizes thusly… mu averaged only 8,800 at home last year, a paltry sum under any circumstances. The espns’ may have worried - with the loss of DC & LL, that mu might struggle, especially early… which would then, presumably, keep the arena at a less than raucous state (as well as empty seats). Not what espn, or the Big 12 for that matter, wants on BM. Keep in mind that the conference also has a large say in this scheduling.
Too bad the game in columbia wasn’t chosen, it will be a barn burner!
By our count, 5 conference teams aren’t on BM at all… hard for those schools to compete & recruit against, we are sure. We also feel for ISU’s Brackins… 1st team all Big 12, no national tv.
