Rivals.com ranks MU 42nd in football pre-season countdown
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Rivals.com is doing its rankings from 120 (North Texas) to No. 1. They hit 42 today and it’s the Tigers.
What they are saying: “Not long ago, a 10-4 record at Missouri would’ve seemed like a miracle or a flash in the pan. In 2008, though, it was viewed as a mild disappointment. A third straight trip to the Big 12 title game doesn’t seem likely.”
The only Big 12 teams ranked below the Tigers are Kansas State, Iowa State from the North and Texas A&M and Baylor from the South.
42nd as in 42nd best team or 42nd best recruiting class (Rivals.com specialty area)?
That’s okay, the lower the expectations, the less chance of being disapointed.
i love being the underdog…i welcome the 42nd ranking!
GO TIGERS!!!
Tiger fans, it is not the end of world ending the Illini series, did add a Big X club, I said club, not power, i.e., Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, O’well you get the picture. But to keep it close to a border conflict, how about SEC like Ky or Tenn or Ark. Then you have some ball games
Time will tell. In ‘07 we started out ranked somewhere around 42. Be +.
The Mizzou jinx is over.
Enjoy the ride.
