The first USA Today/Coaches’ poll is out and the Tigers didn’t crack the top 25 but are getting some looks.

They were 34th overall. Interesting to note that Illinois was at No. 35 so that should be another good matchup at the Jones Dome on Sept. 5 to start the season.

Other Big 12 teams in the pre-season coaches’ rankings:

2. Texas

3. Oklahoma

11. Oklahoma State

22. Nebraska

26. Kansas

28. Texas Tech

53. Colorado.

Also, Mizzou’s Sept. 25 opponent, Nevada, came in 40th.

The Associated Press poll comes out on Aug. 22.

They can’t be overlooking Nevada! MU is 34 and Nevada is close behind at 40. Playing away they much take this game seriously.

#34th is not ranked… it is the 9th highest total of the schools that also received votes for the TOP 25 poll…
