Danario Alexander Big 12 offensive player of week
Danario Alexander shared Big 12 offensive player of the week honors with Iowa State running back Alexander Robinson.
Alexander caught nine passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns (31 and 74) in Missouri’s 31-21 win at Nevada on Friday. Robinson had 178 yards total offense and three TDs in a 31-20 win over Army.
Alexander’s receiving yardage was the 11th-best single game performance in MU history, and marked the second straight game that he has recorded multiple touchdown receptions.
Alexander’s career at MU has been slowed by injuries but the senior is making the most of it this year. Here’s what Gary Pinkel had to say about him:
“The word is perseverance. Talk about adversities, one (injury) in your career is enough let alone several. Always been a fighter. Probably defines him. See that same character as a football player when he is competing. Really proud of him. If we would have been healthy from Day 1, he would be one of top 10 in country. That’s a big statement, in comparison to some of great players I’ve seen, he’s in that category.”
Not much interest in Mizzou football ’round here? C’mon, folks! Three cheers for Danario and our 5-star QB!!!!!!!!
Let’s accomplish something first…sure we pounded an Illinois team that is now 1-2 after being blanked by Ohio State. But we admittedly barely escaped Bowling Green and Nevada.
The next three games against Nebraska, OSU and Texas should tell us what kind of team we really have.
