Texas blocks punt in end zone for 35-7 lead at the half

Texas blocked a Jake Harry IV punt in the end zone and Malcolm Williams recovered for a touchdown with just 45 seconds left in the half. Curtis Brown blocked the punt for Texas.

That gave the Longhorns a 35-7 lead.

The good news for Missouri, is they are doing better than last year’s 56-35 loss in Austin when the Tigers trailed 35-3 at the half.

Since this game is virtually over, can Pinkel PLEASE sit Gabbert for the 2nd Half and not risk him getting hurt even worse??

Of course not! Pinkel is a stubborn S.O.B. and clearly has no problem with his stud QB playing at 50%.

my thoughts on this embarassement
–Bench Gabbert. The young man’s confidence will fall, or continue to fall, if he keeps playing hurt. I admire his toughness, but can Pinkel truely say that he puts this team in better position to win?
–Bench Gettis. Possibly the worst corner I’ve ever seen. He has zero field vision, not athletic, slow, and is beginning to feel sorry for himself on the field, which is making him even slower. His argument with the MU coach on the sidelines warrents a one week suspension. He won’t be missed.
–To Coach Pinkel…this is Texas, they don’t fall for “trick” plays.
–I like our punter, but the rugby style has obvious weaknesses…

This game started wrong from the first decision to kick off when MU won the coin flip. Pinkel and his staff have been badly out coached in the last 3 games. The play calling has been terrible.
BENCH GABBERT NOW. He is a tough kid and great talent but Pinkels decision to keep using him with a hurt ankle is just crazy. Gabbert can’t throw or run. Pinkel is wrecking a potenially great player
That block punt was perhaps the worst coached and executed play that I’ve seen in my 40 years of watching MU football.
MU’s cornerbacks, especially Gettis, just aren’t that good. Why do they line up and play in a prevent defense every play. Texas is a much bigger, faster and better team but MU showed little game. It was embarrasing, again.
