Early notes on SEMO
– Jeremy Maclin is listed as probable on the first depth chart of the week for the Tigers.
– The last times these teams met, it was 1936, and Southeast Missouri was known as Cape Girardeau Teachers College. Missouri, coached by Don Faurot, won 20-0 as the Tigers went 6-2-1 in Faurot’s second season.
– Missouri is 7-0 against teams from the Football Championship Subdivision (the fancy name for what used to be called Division 1-AA). Last season, the Tigers beat Illinois State, 38-17.
– LB Sean Weatherspoon was named national defensive player of the week by the Walter Camp organization. He had seven tackles and two interceptions in the fourth quarter against the Illini.
