The fall wasn’t quite as bad in the Associated Press poll (voting by writers and broadcasters) as MU went from third to 11th.

Texas is No. 1 in those rankings too so the table is set in Austin for a chance at an upset on Saturday night.

The AP rankings:

1. Texas

2. Alabama

3. Penn State

4. Oklahoma

5. Florida

6. Southern Cal

7. Texas Tech

8. Oklahoma State

9. BYU

10. Georgia

11. Missouri

This loss should only give mizzou more fire and passion to prove they belong at the top of college football. Beating the now #1 ranked team on the road would be a nice way to get things going.

How can Mizzou and Oklahoma both lose to quality teams and Mizzou drops 8 spots but Oklahoma only drops 3? This is why the polls should not be used at the end of the season and college football desperately needs a playoff system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oklahoma drops to #4 and Missouri drops to #11 because Olkahoma is Oklahoma and Missouri is…Missouri.

semo - using your logic, is Colorado still Colorado? I just wanted to make sure before I accidentally thought they were Texas Tech!

Mizzou lost to a team ranked #17. OU lost to a team ranked #5, the rankings are in line, IMO. OU lost to a much better team than Mizzou, OSU is a beatable team and by the time the season rolls around, they will have more than 1 loss to their record

I hate to say it, but Mizzou, and many times during the game, did not look like a Top 10 team.

MU/TX is the biggest game in Mizzou football. They better be ready to play this Saturday.
