Welcome to the Big 12 Championship

Just over two hours from kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium for Mizzou vs. Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. It’s cold and windy. The field seems to have recovered well after being messy in the Mizzou-Kansas game last week.

The parking lots are full of tailgaters ($22 per car is the fee), and the lines are long for the portable potties. It’s a ruckus atmosphere, as I walked by two groups of OU-MU fans who were in full argument mode.

Everyone is looking skyward. Not because of weather patterns, but because of an airplane pulling a banner that reads:

Enjoy the beat by Texas.com bowl.

Those UT fans.

Missouri’s bowl implications seem clear at this point. Win this game, and it’s the Fiesta Bowl, likely against Ohio State.

Lose and it’s the Alamo Bowl, with the likely opponent Northwestern.

Alamo and Northwestern, heck of an effort reminds me of the poor teams we’ve had in the past. Makes me feel very embarrassed to live in this state…at least the poor teams that got hammered had an excuse. Pinkel deserves any reaming he gets over this game and the fans and media shouldn’t hold back - this is ridiculous and makes all us look very weak…. knowing you’re bad and losing leaves hope you can get better, but thinking you’re good and losing this bad? It is the coach folks and there’s no excuse for having a team this ill prepared - he picks pansies to play for his team in my book…
