And Mr. Irrelevant is . . .
Outside linebacker David Voboro of Idaho. The Rams took him with the last pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, thus giving him a free vacation courtesy of the Mr. Irrelevant folks.
The scouting experts are actually excited about this guy, suggesting he could have a legit chance to make the team. Scott Linehan took care of a kid from his alma mater.
So that’s it. The draft is over. Keep pounding away with your comments — I’m sure the Rams read every one of them.

Regardless of what the Rams read, I’m sure your advertisers read the clicks and I’m sure the P-D doesn’t appreciate the discouragement.
Now comes the spin machine … Thanks God we’ve heard it all before. Who can forget Trung Canidat’s Pro Bowl season (the post draft prediction, at least).
I’ll wait and see, but the truth is, the team made some stretches and curious picks this year. Must be the Rams’ (and STL football Cardinals) and we should be immune to this.
Jeff Gordon is actually Mr. Irrelevant
Why is it that guys by the name of Jeff Gordon are such complainers and overall complete jerks!! If this clown had to actually write for a living, he would be residing under a highway overpass….luckily, he works for the PD and they take care of charity cases such as this. Hey, you gotta love these left leaning socialist type of newspapers for something!!
after the Rams pick donnie avery with the second pick and beating down the urge to put my foot through my television I am looking forward to picking first overall in the 2009 draft and scott linehan in the unemployment line………. picking the 11th ranked WR in the worst WR draft in NFL history as your first WR pick?????????….. they could have picked this loser up as a free agent when all teams pass on him….. they drafted him for his speed….. good good how long will it take for this guy to cash his guaranteed money cheque and retire in hawaii after the team cuts him??????? I’ll tell you really really fast… maybe topping his 4.29 in 40 time ……. the o line is in shambles and we pick a WR that even Marshal Faulk couldn’t believe…. why is it every year the Rams pick a guy no one heard of ????????? unbelievable……. the ghost of Mike Martz still remains but now without the talent to bail this team out……… how long until chris long asks for a trade??? two maybe three years of Ram crap?? guaranteed we lost steven jackson and tory holt after this draft and year…. the Rams had to hit a homerun with this draft to go 8-8 this year and they got caught looking on three straight under arm pitches…….. golf anyone????
Gordo’s a homo. He didn’t get any #’s at the draft party. I was there - he tried hard! haha
Okay, maybe I was wrong about most or all of Rams nation being on board their draft selections, but it looks like I wasn’t wrong about Gordo… see above comments… Who wants to go in on buying “www.firelinehan.com”?
Wow. It sure didn’t take long for the true character of the midwest to take over did it. Use of the N word. Calling people gay. Throwing the “L” word around like it’s a bad thing.
You know, I have defended St. Louis as an area that really isn’t the same as the rest of Missouri. Guess I was wrong. The true character of redneck white trash showed up. It’s a sad day when the only people I am prejudiced against are the whites who live here. And I’m white. Sad to have to hate your own race because they prove over and over they aren’t worthy of breathing air.
It’s Vabora not Vaboro.
Jeff -
DO the Rams read these? I doubt it. Why is it that neither the local sportswriters nor the Rams spokespeople will even attempt to explain why the Rams saw Donnie Avery as the best WR in the draft (not to mention the best available player at pick 33!) when NO ONE ELSE in the league or football world did.
I can believe that the Rams have some knowledge/wisdom on the talent that others don’t have, but is it a secret that beats out 11 other higher rated WRs? And is that secret one that 31 other teams don’t know? Or did they take him that high because they heard that another team knew that great secret and they were going to take him before the Rams’ #65 pick? How is the Rams’ intelligence on other teams so good that they knew Avery wouldn’t still be there at 65? Why couldn’t they trade down 10 or 20 or 30 spots, still get Avery and get an extra pick?
I know the Rams will never reveal the truth here, but my real question to you is…..Why won’t they even acknowledge that their pick was a LONG reach by everyone’s standards, and at least offer some kind of explanation? And why won’t any reporter ask them that question directly?
You don’t have to be as big a jerk as Kevin Slaten to ask that question, but maybe he’s my only hope.
