Brooks Foster: Basketball Champion

The Rams’ fifth-round pick has competed in the Edward Jones Dome before — as a member of Roy Williams’ national basketball champion Tar Heels team.

“I forget about that,” Foster said during his Sunday conference call with St. Louis reporters. “I know a little bit about the city.”

Foster played just five games that season as a walk-on before leaving hoops behind to focus on football. He really reached his full potential in that sport, but he is not lacking confidence.

“I’m versatile,” he said. “I can play any position. I can play the slot, I can play the flanker. I can run any route. I can give you speed, I can give you strength. I can do anything.”

Foster needed minor knee surgery after last season, but insisted he is 100 percent healthy now.

A monkey could have picked Smith in round one and Lauriniatis in rnd 2. The rest look like busts compared to what was available. This has all the markings of a Bobby “Big Bust” Beathard draft.

I’m sorry. We used to call Bobby Beatherd “Big Bust” in San Diego. His right hand man, Billy Devaney is now carrying on that tradition with the Rams. Beathard would waste picks on players nobody ever heard of and claim he was a guru drafting “nuggets”. Well, 99% of his “nuggets” in SD were busts. His claim to fame was drafting Junior Seau in the first round. Wow! A blind monkey could have made that pick.

What about RB Terrell Fletcher? Beathard and Devaney were so in love with him they traded the Chargers next year’s first round pick to get him. I think Mel Kyper had him as a fifth rounder. Needless ot say he contributed like a fifth rounder…a BAD fifth rounder.

All I can say is here we go again……..

At Least Devaney and Spaggs didn’t draft a dyslexic OB like the 49ers did!

Wow, nothing has changed. Still can’t draft to save our lives. Like others have said, Smith and Laurinaitis were no brainers. After that, it is has been one huge reach after another. We are well on our way to getting that number one pick, next season. Another undersized wide receiver, motivationally-challenged defensive tackle, a cornerback who is stiff and now we take a quarterback who no one has ever heard of. Brilliant, Devaney, I guess you are not buying a home, are you?

Ron, the falcons trade got made about 3 weeks ago.
We got WR Laurent Robinson, and flipped 5th and 6th round picks.

Totally agree with Mitch from SD… Drafts are won or lost in rounds 3-7… Devaney himself said that after round 2 you start reaching for guys in the 3rd that you could get in the 5th. What type of logic is that? Day 2 major head scratchers! Absolutely pathetic… Devaney ’says’ all the right things, but is insecure and delusional!

rams1263,

You’re comment was really distasteful and give Rams Fans a bad rap. If you don’t like the 49ners picks that’s your business but you cross the line bringing up that he’s dyslexic like it’s something bad. At least the young man is making the most of his situation and it shows character on the 49ners part to take a young man like that and work with him. I don’t like the 49ners but I do applaud them and anybody who doesn’t let life get them down and instead of making excuses go out and overcome their adversities.
