Bills-Rams Second Quarter
Steven Jackson ended up in the stands celebrating with his new fans after his 29-yard TD run early in the quarter. His emotional response cost the Rams 15 yards, but it was the first time all year that anybody around the organization has had some fun.
So please forgive him. He just wrapped up an 89-yard touchdown drive. It seems like 17 years since Rams fans have seen one of those.
Also, the 14-6 lead seemed pretty odd, too.
Then the Rams defense earned a quick stop, highlighted by Leonard Little’s sack.
It was good to see tight end Randy McMichael back in the game. Apparently his earlier issue was just a camp. It was not to good to see Green’s third-down pass soar through his outstretched arms.
The Rams cannot stand prosperity.
Defensively, these guys are hitting harder and playing with more passion. But the Rams after still giving up some plays, like Edwards’ big third-down completion to Josh Reed. Buffalo moved back into scoring range.
Little pushed the Bills back out of range, though, will his second sack of the game. This is Little’s first multi-sack game since the 2006 season.
He has been missed. When he is playing at full speed, this isn’t one of the worst teams in the history of the NFL.
Look! The Rams defense forced a turnover! There is would-be Pro Bowl safety O.J. Atogwe intercepting the ball and racing upfield for 21 yards!
That did not lead to points, however. Give Linehan props for going for it on fourth down at midfield. What does he have to lose?
The defense covered his back by making a big stop. Ricky Manning Jr. and James Hall teamed up for huge third-down sack. The Rams actually heartfelt applause leaving the field.
Again, it’s been awhile . . .
At the half, Jackson has 99 yards rushing. As a group, the Rams have outgained Buffalo 148-18 on the ground.
How many of us saw that coming?
Green was just average in the first half, completing 6 of 14 passes for 62 yards. He avoided sacks and turnovers, however, and he left the field with the lead.

I don’t know if it’s just in this particular dome or just “field turf” in general…but I’ve seen about 3 instances of players tripping on it. Steven Jackson, Jeremy Maclin (MIZZOU), and now the QB for Buffalo. I guess it’s better than the old turf at the Old Busch or The Vet in the old Philly stadium (Blow out city!!!) Good interception by the defense. GREEN+ENERGY=THE CHANGE WE ALL NEED!!!!!
Gordo; I’ll admit that I don’t pay a great deal of attention to the NFL’s off season Rules Committee meetings, but other than the obvious, what’s the difference between Steven’s celebration and the Lambeau Leap?
Four sacks in one half? What have they done with my Rams, Gordo?
Can they finish? That is the million dollar question, can they seal the deal?
Greg in Louisville
I personally didn’t see much difference with the Lambeau leap myself.
I will not be doing chores during the second half this week. Rams look like they are having fun….and so am I. Hope they haven’t spent themselves in the first half. Holding my breath!
I wonder if Holt is going to show up today? If you are the #1 receiver you’ve got ot get open & make plays! 2 catches for 29 yards. Green needs some help.
Great job Rams, lets keep up the intensity for the duration of the game. As far as Jackson getting penalized, sometimes when you become out spoken you become a target. AS LONG AS HE’S RUNNING LIKE THAT, I DON’T CARE IF HE CELEBRATES AFTER EVERY TD. SHAME ON THE OFFICIALS!!!!!!! Not quite a banner year for the refs already this year.
Well we usually don’t win the 2nd half adjustment game. First drive by Buff’s a score. At least it’s a game at this point but I’m not betting the house on a win yet.
Ummm… will there be a blog for the third quarter?
