Rams-Seahawks Second Quarter

As far as I can tell, Scott Linehan is still the head coach. But I’m not sure why.

Another three-and-out for the Rams, with a harried Bulger side-arming an incomplete pass toward Dane Looker.

Look — the Rams got a break! Michael Bumpus loses track of the ensuing punt and it caroms off him to Rams special teamer Gary Stills.

After getting the turnover, the Rams try two sweeps with Jackson . . . and they go nowhere. That creative play-calling sets up third and long. Oh, boy.

On third-and-13, Bulger goes up top to Looker. Isaac Bruce he is not. Looker attracts two defensive backs in the end zone and the pass is swatted away.

The Rams settle for a field goal after the turnover, cutting their deficit to 17-3. And this team STILL has not run a play in the red zone this season.

Julius Jones plows right through the middle of the Rams defense for another first down. The Rams came from one way, the Seahawks went the other.

The good news: Tye Hill actually has great coverage on Billy McMullen. The bad news, he gets called for pass interference. Will his suffering ever end?

Will our suffering ever end?

Hasselbeck isn’t exactly Michael Vick, but he takes off for still another first down scramble. Are any of the Rams paying attention out there?

McMullen breaks wide open in the befuddled Rams secondary and fields Hasselbeck’s bomb up the left sideline at the Rams 6. Either Fakhir Brown expected help over the top or he just got tired of running.

Not good.

T.J. Duckett plows through the dispirited Rams defense and now the visitors trail 24-3. We knew it could get ugly in Seattle, but did anybody expect this nightmare?

The Rams have been outgained 208-14. Does Linehan give a fiery halftime speech or duck out for an adult beverage?

Look! It’s Donnie Avery! He caught a pass for a first down and got 15 more yards for taking a take bump. Take that, DeSean Jackson.

A completion to Hall, Jackson plowing up the middle, Avery taking off with a swing offense — this is the Rams offense fans hoped to see from the start of the game.

The Rams ARE ACTUALLY IN THE RED ZONE. We kid you not. They finally get to run plays in the red zone.

But Bulger flips the ball off his back foot toward Torry Holt in the left corner of the end zone. A more assertive throw gets the Rams six points. Instead, they settle for three on another Josh Brown field goal.

This didn’t stop the bleeding, since Seattle still leads 24-6.

Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren opts to sit on this lead, running the ball three times before punting it back to the Rams. Nice guy, Holmgren.

Bulger finished his regrettable half by overthrowing Dane Looker and Torry Holt, forcing the Rams to punt the ball back to Seattle.

Can it get worse? Yes. Hasselbeck gunned a completion to Carlson to midfield, then Jones took off for 32 yards to set up a last-second field goal by Olindo Mare.

Your halftime score: Seattle 27, Rams 6. Yikes.

If I were Rosenbloom, I’d fire Linehan and that bozo of a GM by halftime, and fine each and every player on the roster, whether they’re on the field or not, for how hideous they are. This makes me wish I could cancel my NFL Sunday ticket after the season started. On the bright side, at least we can still watch Warner perform, despite losing today.

Miami is beating New England last time I looked. We can’t even compete against them for the basement.

And yes, Miami did beat New England! 32nd best team in the NFL, I’d bump it down even farther if that’s even possible.

FYI: Gus Frerotte was virtually mistake-free in leading the Vikings to a win over the Panthers. Maybe it is the entire Rams organization and not one guy.

I, along with many other disgruntled fans I’m sure, turned the game off. I find it more entertaining reading play by play. :) A waste of $260 on Sunday Ticket.
