Bears-Rams Fourth Quarter: More Turnover Fun!
The Rams finally moved the ball early in the fourth quarter, with Kenneth Darby running the ball and Trent Green locating Torry Holt, Keenan Burton, Anthony Becht (!) and others.
Fans begging for John Greco got their look at the big rookie; he stepped in at left guard for Jacob Bell.
With the Rams facing fourth-and-two at the Bears 28, Jim Haslett sent out his field goal team. Then Haslett figured out his team was down 27-3, so he sent the offense back on the field and called a time out.
Green managed to scramble for a first down (barely) and keep the drive alive. But another deflection interception killed the would-be scoring drive.
That pick, his third of the game, lowered Green’s passer rating for this game to 39.9. Not good.
At this point, the Rams have rushed the ball 16 times for (ahem) three yards. Also not good.
Green’s next interception, his fourth, went right to linebacker Lance Briggs. What the . . .
The Rams got the ball back by forcing a fumble (Jason Craft) and recovering (Fakhir Brown) it.
Brock Berlin tagged in for Green, who finished with a 37.4 passer rating. So at least a few different faces got some action in this fiasco.

And another Ram drive ends with Green throwing his third interception at the Chicago 14 yard line. These guys are giving SOSAR a good name!
Why not change the name of the team to the St. Louis Keystone Kops? We could try to get Keystone Beer to spring for a new 10,000 fan stadium they might actually be able to fill with visiting team ticket purchases after this pathetic season.
Bring them back to L.A They do not want to play for your city anymore. Horrible luck, we suck so bad its embarassing to go watch my Rams at the sports bar. At least I am a real fan, not like you St. Louis bandwagon jumpers. I went through way more losing seasons then any of you horrible fans. go watch your hockey team and baseball team, thats all St. lOUIS IS GOOD FOR.
CHRIS IN L.A
BRING EM BACK TO CALIFORNIA CHIP.
Is there some reason not to throw Berlin into the game? There is zero to lose and at least we can get a little entertainment from seeing a different QB. Otherwise, why even have the guy on the payroll? Green was never more than a back-up for the starter, who is finished. Bad place to be.
“With the Rams facing fourth-and-two at the Bears 28, Jim Haslett sent out his field goal team. Then Haslett figured out his team was down 27-3, so he sent the offense back on the field and called a time out.”
Haslett must be listening to his iPod most of the time through his headset. I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t want to pay attention to the game either.
It’s all about talent people. Look how confindent and talented the 2001s team looked. This team had no leaders..All followers.
Just saw the Chiefs are losing 54-24 to the Bills at Arrowhead. Looks like they’re playing worse than the Rams today, so there’s some consolation. They’ve given up 54 points to the Bills, a team that averaged 21 points a game coming in.
I told you it wasn’t just me. The Rams are officially hopeless. I would advise all you Rams fans to start rooting for KC and Detroit to win some games. Actually, nevermind….. I am sure we’ll get the guy we would have drafted #1 overall with the 3rd, 4th or 5th pic considering the Rams couldn’t draft a stud with a psychic running the show. With that being said, we should just trade all of our draft pics and starters to another team for their practice squad.
Hold on a sec……..Coach Linehan just called me, I heard what sounded to be like a driver hitting a golf ball, then he laughed and hung up. Whats up with that?
Any chances LA still wants us?
I understand the fans who say they’re REAL fans and that we should all stop btchn’ and support the team. What I understand is that they are morons.Don’t even preach that crap to me! I’ve been a LOYAL fan since Gabriel to Snow and while we’ve certainly endured some bad teams in the past, NOTHING compares to this mess.We may have somehow won those two games, but make no mistake, this team is the worst in the NFL and by far the worst in Rams history. The worst thing? Not a ray of hope in sight.
The franchise owes us all better than this.
More of the same. Obviously, we have very little talent on this team. Well, better luck next year. (that sounds sadly like the cubs mantra)
chris in la…do you think the rams would have left la if they had the great support of the los angeles millions….st louis has more football fans percentage wise than la ever had..we lost the cardinals, but we don’t get on arizona blogs when they were losing and dis those fans…we understand the organizations both sucked to get to this point…the rams will come back and be exciting as the cardinals did,and the stadium will be all blue and gold again…its the circle of life…now, quit your whining and go on a “home of the stars” bus tour or whatever it is you do when you quit crying..
As a long time ram fan, {since 1972}{jack snow, deacon jones roman gabriel merlin olsen ,yeah that long} It kills me to see this organization play like this. I also have the unenviable position of having phila eagles fans slaughter me every week since I live in southeastern pa. but what really got me this week is how when the eagles lost this week to baltimore 36-7 all you heard all week long on the philly station was how to dissect this loss and analyze what happened that they got whupped so bad { and they are having an average season as a team} and I just thought to myself this happens to our team EVERY WEEK in fact if we actually showed up to even compete we would have to dissect that and overanalyze it to see if we could repeat it. Lets face it folks haslett has to go ,no he isnt the one turning the ball over and not blocking and not tackling BUT these are all signs of poor disciplined team. Look at the good teams, they have good coaches who won’t tolerate poor discipline. haslett has shown he can’t get the guys to toughen up mentally or physically .sooner or later you have to toughen up and make a stand this team refuses to do that.Haslett has shown he MUST be let go.
