Bears-Rams Second Quarter: Chicago Extends Lead To 21-0
The Rams defense forced a mishap, jarring the ball from Matt Forte with aggressive gang-tackling. Defensive Chris Long forced the fumble and safety O.J. Atogwe recovered it to tally another takeaway.
The incredulous Bears demanded a video review but, hey, the ruling stood.
Fan favorite Richie Incognito drew a rousing response by starting the next Rams offensive sequence with a false start penalty.
Trent Green overcame that mistake with a 14-yard completion to Donnie Avery. But that “drive” died when Green overthrew a home-run back to Torry Holt and the officials waved off an obvious pass interference foul committed against Eric Bassey.
Yes, the Rams ran a fake punt play. Donnie Jones floated his pass toward Bassey, but Eric would have made the reception for a first down had the interference not occurred.
Naturally, the Bears converted that mistake into points. Matt Forte gashed the Rams defense for a 47-yard TD run and Chicago’s lead was 21-0.
This is another long, long day for the Male Sheep. About the only positive note so far has been the fine shotgun snapping by center Brett Romberg, filling in for Nick Leckey.

Are you sure those are men out there, Gordo? They don’t play like it.
Good thing Chip is there today. If has ANY sense at all like his father, he’ll get the pink slips filled out and ready to go right after the final second of the last game. Keep Haslett?? God forbid!!!! Get rid of the entire front office, coaches, and stiffs in uniforms that have the gall to call themselves players starting with that worthless load Incognito!
Well at least we’ll hold them under 40 points this half. Try as they man, Chicago just doesn’t have enough time to make that nut!
REMEMBER THE TITANS OR THE 2ND HALF
Thank God for Daniel Fells! He’s worth every last penny of cap space he’s taking up! Don’t cut hnim!
What’s that you say? He’s not taking any cap space? More Fells, Darbys. Less Jacksons, Bulgers.
And when did we last draft a linebacker on the first day of the draft?
LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE WE WILL ONLY BE LOSING BY 25 AT HALF TIME
We signed Pisa in the second round 45 years ago. And we signed some lb out of UCLA in the first round who busted so loud we could hear it all the way to Seattle.
For linebackers we’ve got Spoon and thereafter zilch. We need a DE aDT a whole new secondary–and that’s just the defense.
Maybe we can stop hearing about how Green needs to be in there. He’s got no arm left and this oline is so bad nobody could survive back there. They need to clean house in the offseason. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to come here, though, no matter how much they’re paying. This disOrganization is totally inept.
Here is a thought: Lets have some St. Louis locals go to the Dome for the next homegame. Have a mini tryout before the game and get em suited up. Couldn’t be any worse than what has been happening. One touchdown in the last three games, outscored like 100 to 9 or something like that in the first half of the three games. These guys are pathetic to call themselves “professional” football players. Watching this game, its like they don’t even want to tackle the Bears. I bet there are alot of street football players that could play better than the Rams. Unless of course there is a plan by the management to destroy this team and move them back to LA. Wouldn’t surprise me if the locker room talk is something like: “Hey Guys. Keep up the good work getting destroyed. We’ll all soon be back out in sunny California!”
