Rams-49ers Fourth Quarter: San Francisco Finishes Off Victory

Could this game get worse? Sure, if players keep getting hurt.

This time it was linebacker Will Witherspoon going down with a garbage time injury. That brought David Vobora into the fray while Witherspoon regouped.

Fortunately for the Rams, Witherspoon made it back into the game.

The 49ers gave the Rams a chance to score more points when running back DeShaun Foster got careless with the football, allowing Pisa Tinoisamoa to punch it out. Naturally, the Rams failed to convert the turnover into any points.

With things in hand, 49ers coach Mike Singletary brought quarteback J.T. O’Sullivan off the bench to spell Shaun Hill.

Then Rams linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa had to walk off an injury. Since this game really ended hours ago, it’s tough watching key players getting hurt out there.

With the 49ers playing a prevent defense, Bulger was able to pad his statistics with one short completion after another.

The final St. Louis drive yielded consolation points, with Bulger slipping a 2-yard TD pass to Dane Looker. So the scoreboard, at 35-16, looked a little better.

Rather than just get off the field without any more injuries, Rams interim coach Jim Haslett opted to increase the risk by using his timeouts hoping to get the ball back one more time.

The Rams suffered their eighth loss in 10 games and (hopefully) a complete off-season overhaul.

Heartless. Gutless. Couldn’t beat UCLA, this year’s team.

Don’t know why, but I can’t stop watching them. How stupid is that?

I agree with BakoCAramFan. I can’t stop listening (not on tv here). why is that. I suppose I just hoping there’s some reason to believe they can’t possibly be this bad. just a bummer to think that we’re back in 93-98 era again. Hopefully it turns into the 99-02 era…

This team is the biggest thieves in professional sports. I cannot belive they can take fans money and live with theirselves. THIEVES!

The draft is NOT going to fix this team. I don’t care if they had 3 number one picks. They would ALL be busts. The talent scout for this team needs to be picking up trash in the parking lot.

Two years in a row of DFL (dead friggin’ last) in the division. Time for a closed door meeting. They are all failing miserably at thier jobs. Miserably. They have great fans, plenty of salary cap room and a bunch of pretty darn good players. Time to make some moves, to put this team back on top of this division and heading back to the SB. There is absolutely no excuse for losing like they are doing this season. painful to watch.

This was the worst I have seen the Rams play all year. I kept hearing those words uttered by Ken Norton. You know he said,”Same old sorry ass Rams.” That was the first year in St Louis the Rams versus the Niners. When Orlando Pace went down I was thinking here we go again and in the second half Orlando was shown in his tee shirt standing up with no problem yucking it up with some Rams trainer. I got to work sick and sometimes with a stiff back or pain in my legs. If i can walk I go to work. Orlando if you can walk you can play too pal. That is just laziness Orlando Pace not toughing it out for the team. If Orlando is now relegated to being a paycheck collector then he should just do us Rams fans a favor and RETIRE. Orlando “with no heart” Pace. And speaking of that Marc Bulger looks stiffer than Tony Banks or Steve Walsh out there. Coach Haslett please put Trent Green in there at least Trent Green will try. I hope the Rams draft a QB and put the Bulger era to bed in the past where Bulger belongs.
By the way what is Kurt Warner doing these days?

Look at the bright side, they didn’t waste any of their timeouts trying to win like they did under Martz!

Not saying S. Jackson isn’t a premier running back, and I admit I have never been a huge fan. The man will never be held in the same regard as Faulk, and he hasn’t exactly won over alot of fans in his time here. The Rams need help EVERYWHERE, so what would the guy bring in a draft day trade? Larry Johnson has personal issues, but the man comes to play (when he’s not suspended). It wouldn’t solve getting alot of bodies in here for next season, but it would get rid of Jackson and at least the team would have a running back that is capable of carrying a team on his back (for more than a 2 game stretch like the great S. Jackson).
