The Rams defense opened the second half with a three-and-out stop of the hapless 49ers, but their offense got the ball back on their 7-yard line.

Steven Jackson re-entered the game despite his aggravated hamstring strain . . . and he probably shouldn’t half. He lost two yards on first down, then let a second-down pass slip through his hands.

He gained seven yards on a third-down draw play, but the possession came to an end.

The Rams defense earned still another stop, with linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa making the big play by sacking Hill for a seven-yard loss on second down.

Then Leonard Little got another sack, for old times sake, to force the 49ers to punt again.

The Rams opened their next possession with an interesting play out of the “Wildcat” formation. Jackson took the direct snap and handed the ball to Dane Looker on an end around play – and then Looker completed a pass to Marc Bulger on the sideline.

Nice.

But Richie Incognito eradicated a big pass play to Jackson with a timely holding penalty and that was that for this possession. Richie, Richie, Richie . . .
