Rams-Cardinals Third Quarter: Jackson Fumbles Away Comeback Bid
Look, it’s Torry Holt! The Rams opened the second half by actually throwing him the ball downfield for a first down.
The Rams have caught on to the “Wildcat” again. Too bad they can’t block well enough to execute it.
On fourth-and-one at the Arizona 42, the Rams elected to go for it – and Steven Jackson moved the chains while running out of the fullback position.
Completions to Anthony Becht and Jackson earned another first down.
That was a really good looking drive . . . right up the point when Jackson fumbled the ball back to the Gridbirds.
Can this team do anything right?
Warner calmly marched the Cardinals back up the field, spending the ball to all of targets. Steve Breaston came back into the game after exiting in the first half – and he nearly scored a TD after catching a deep ball on the right side of the end zone.
Heck, even Edgerrin James got in on the fun, grinding out some yardage between the tackles.
The Rams finally stopped the charge, with Leonard Little earning the drive-killing sack. But he hobbled off the field after aggravating his hamstring strain on that play. With this team, you have to take the bad with the good.
