Fourth Quarter: Frisco Melt! 49ers 35, Rams 0
San Francisco quarterback Shaun Hill dramatically underthrew Josh Morgan to start the fourth quarter, but the Rams were a bit late covering him. So Morgan was able to field the wobbling pass in the end zone and San Francisco pushed its lead to 28-0.
Is it Keith Null time? Or should the Rams just go Wildcat, since it seems there are no downfield passes in this offense?
The next brilliant Rams play was a new one. Kyle Boller faked one end-around handoff, then tried to give the ball to receiver Danny Amendola as the second end around.
What a horrendous idea. This was a Harry High School play. The 49ers were all over it.
The pint-sized Amendola didn’t get the handoff clean, then Manny Lawson crushed him to make sure the ball came out. 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald scooped up the loose ball and scored, so San Francisco had a 35-0 lead.
Yikes!
With this game out of hand, why would Steve Spagnuolo leave Steven Jackson on the field to risk injury? What was he trying to prove by having his franchise player on the field in the fourth quarter?

Yes it is Keith Null time. Feel sorry for the kid to take the abuse this line allows.
Hey Jeff, who spotted us the 10 points?
Scott Linehan:
Please take off that Spagnuolo mask and reveal yourself!!!
You’ve got to laugh or else you’d cry.
How bad can this get?
I just can’t wait for the next comment here telling us that we’re on the right track, just be patient with Spags and Billy D., the real football people are now in control and we are making progress.
What progress? This team is actually worse than the last two years. The honeymoon for this regime is officially over. Can someone point to just one thing that indicates this new management is on the right track?
Embarassing!
Well Mike for one thing, they havnt got anybody killed yet. So they got that going for them.
What is going on with this team? Pathetic is too nice. The current team is loaded with losers, players who don’t care and a handful that try. The talent level is somewhere below poor and the “coaching”…what can be said about the “coaching”. Everyone is laughing at this team. Is there really a bigger bunch of losers than this team?
Dave
It’s time for Devaney to call Mark Schlereth back and apologize. This team HAS officially quit.
Then Devaney should fire Spagnuolo for blatant incompetence.
I hear the CBS pregame show wants Devaney back for a new segment called “Billy D. picks the losers.” If he picks himself every week, he could never go wrong.
Fire Devaney. Fire Spagnuolo. Move back to L.A.
OK, Mike, I’ll agree that these last 4 games have been bad . But what do you suggest? Fire the coach after 4 games and go find someone with the quick fix. I agree these teams have looked bad (except for defensively — of those 35 points, only 14 were given up by the D and the last 7 by the fatigued 4th quarter D), but at this point, they at least have the season. I agree that we haven’t seen progress, especially offensively — that’s just been painful. But this regime is at least going to have 16 games to try to prove their worth.
