Rams Turn Over Game To Vikings, 38-10
Give the Rams this: They keep finding new and highly creative ways to lose football games.
The key to Sunday’s 38-10 loss to the Minnesota Viking was red zone turnovers.
Yes, the Rams actually moved the football in Week 5 of the NFL season. Their long-dormant offense actually produced several big-chunk plays of 20-plus yards.
They made progress with both their rushing attack and their passing game. They actually attacked the Vikings with deep throws, making Minnesota defend the whole field.
Ah, but these are the Rams. They undermined all that progress by turning the ball over in the red zone twice in the second quarter and once in the fourth quarter.
On one play, Steven Jackson never got a handle on the handoff from Kyle Boller. The ball got away from him and Minnesota recovered the fumble.
On another play, tight end Daniel Fells caught a pass at the Minnesota 5 and they spit up the ball – in the air, no less – to Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson.
The capper was a fourth-down interception in the end zone, with Minnesota safety Tyrell Johnson going up to get a ball Boller put up for grabs.
And earlier in the game, the Vikings returned Boller’s comical fumble (on a whiffed pass) for a touchdown.

I wonder if Spags is having second thoughts when he sees what the Jets are doing? This alleged team is just bad-PERIOD.
The offense is total ineptitude. Each week it’s 50-50 as to who will score more- the Rams O or the other team’s D. It’s time to start the player rotation. Put Jason Smith at LT. I don’t care if he’s ready or not he’s gotta learn. Put Setterstrom at LG. Put Greco at RG or RT. I’d like to see what Null can do. This team is bad and boring!
THIS TEAM WILL GO DOWN AS THE WORST IN NFL HISTORY. SPAGS IS A FRAUD FOR AT LEAST NOT BEING COMPETITIVE. PACK YOUR BAGS, RAMS.
I saw an offense that, minus a couple fumbles, will compete this year. I saw an offense that would have dominated Washington. Boller deserves another shot. He provides an aspect to the offense that Bulger can’t. I think it’s a little early to be critical of Spags…..and to call him a fraud is downright stupid. The man clearly cares, and his attitude and approach to the game will remain the same no matter how many gutless fans are calling for his head. You guys need to grow a set and be patient….Rome wasn’t built in a day!
this is pitiful
Between the red zone turnovers, and the fumble by Boller returned for a TD, and the officials (illegal blocks taking out defensive linemen no-call; hit Boller in the head knocking him loopy, no-call) you can see why this team is losing. One thing is for certain; even though there were a lot of points on the board for the second week in a row;you can’t put this on the defense. At some point, the offense is going to have to stop coughing up the football and put together a game that compliments the ever improving defense. Really, I’m serious, two fumbles and an interception inside the red zone! The Rams should easily have had 24 points here. Maybe at some point they’ll stop beating themselves.
Mental rejects…. that pretty much sums up this Ram team. As a fan I can take it when my team is bad and getting beat by another team…. but this display of lack of focus and concentration is just unbearable to watch. Lights out out for me, I’ll tune in next year and hope for a competitive team.
I know I know what people are saying; fire this guy, get rid of this player, how can ownership put up with this pathetic team. True, the talent level is very sub standard, and with BD and Spags finally getting some fair assessments of their players, its going to take sometime for their influences to take hold on this team. What is very upsetting are the mistakes that are made each and every week. This has got to STOP, plain and simple. No more excuses, these are paid professionals, and I don’t care how much effort is put out each and every week, the mistakes are inexcusable gentleman…………..Control what you can control, when moving down the field and when you are driving for the end zone, please don’t hold, false start, or fumble the ball……..that’s what is inexcusable with Rams fans. Finally, DA when you score a touchdown, stop with the hot dogging, just give the ball to the official and head back to the side line, this team should be embarrassed to celebrate considering the lack of execution that we are unable to produce.
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it over and over again, until this offense gets its head out of its ass and realizes one or two flash in the pan plays does not win shit for you, and starts to concentrate on not making mistakes and hold onto to the f=—ing football. on EVERY SINGLE PLAY,we wont win a game. I don’t know what it is besides bad coaching, that has allowed this team to continually ,play after play, year after year shoot itself in the foot and never learn their lesson, never protect the ball and stop making bad penalties and brainless mistakes. it’s like we’re in the twilight zone with these simpletons on this team.
I’ve never been to a home Vikings game until today.
