PM Update: Faulk wouldn’t Rush to embrace Limbaugh

Tipsheet never agrees with Rush Limbaugh on political matters, but the Rams could do worse for its next owner. The guy is committed to Missouri and he has plenty of ultra-rich friends to join the project.

But Marshall Faulk is understandably skeptical about this prospect.

MEET TOM BRADY’S MAN SERVANT

Here is an interesting look inside the life of the celebrity/jock. That’s almost too much information.

THE CARDS NEED TO SCOUT THIS KID

Over at Deadspin, a youth sports story caught the attention of Rick Chandler. He wrote:

“Nine-year-old Jericho Scott has been banned from pitching in a New Haven, Conn., youth baseball league because he throws so hard that he frightens the other players, according to league officials. But he took to the mound on Saturday anyway, so the other team simply dropped their bats and left the field, refusing to face him (San Diego Padres: ‘You can do that?’). Next logical step for all involved? Lawsuits! See, this is why I love you, America.”

Our take:

It’s not uncommon to see obvious ringers competing in recreational and CYO leagues, to the chagrin of opponents. Tipsheet has recruited overqualified youngsters to slant the competitive balance from time to time, so we know the drill.

But Tipsheet also understands that kids shouldn’t be forced into more competitive leagues at the age of 9. Let them remain kids!  “Select” sports will come soon enough, at the expense of a normal childhood.

As long as the superior player isn’t hurting other players – and that wasn’t the case here, since the kid had great control – he should be able to play with his peers.

“He’s never hurt any one,” said his manager, Wilfred Vidro, according to the Associated Press. “He’s on target all the time. How can you punish a kid for being too good?”

TOO SOON, DUDE, TOO SOON

The Daily Mail of London reports that a BBC football commentator made an “inappropriate remark,” as his bosses termed it, about the Spanish air disaster during a match.

Reporter Chris Price told listeners that Rochdale “were making more holes in the Bradford defense than in a Spanish aircraft”.

Ouch! This quip came just three days after a Spanair plane crashed at Barajas International airport in Madrid, killing at least 153 people.

“I honestly thought I was being descriptive,” Price said. “It wasn’t meant to be funny; it was just a descriptive phrase. If people are offended by what I said, then of course I apologise but I never intended to offend anyone.”

Sad. Faulk’s comments lack logic.

Faulk obviously believes Limbaugh is a racist due to his comments about McNabb. Thus, Faulk believes Limbaugh wouldn’t want the likes of him involved in the Rams organization or would somehow disrespect him if he were.

Isn’t Faulk saying to Limbaugh, “We don’t want your kind here”? If that’s the case, isn’t Faulk expressing the same sentiment he’s accusing Limbaugh of?
