PM Update: Warner nearly quit last week
How upset was Kurt Warner a week ago? He told Yahoo! Sports scribe Michael Silver that he nearly packed it in for good.
Warner struggled through a turnover-prone and set poor Anquan Boldin up for the vicious hit on a pass ove the middle.
Unfortunately for the Rams, Warner decided to stick it out and got back on a MVP-caliber pace. He can’t wait to face his old team.
ONE GIANTS HEADACHE
So what was the “family emergency” that caused Giants receiver Plaxico Burress to miss practice and earn a one-game team suspension for failing to show or call?
He had to take his son to school.
“It was just a situation I had to deal with that morning, and I made the right decision,” Burress told reporters during a conference call. “I don’t have any regrets about the decision I made at all.”
Burress insisted there were no hard feelings over the suspension and loss of $117,500 in pay.
“My emotions were that they suspended me,” he told reporters. “That was the decision they chose to do. I’ll take it at that. I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. I got me some rest and was able to get away for a while and chill out and relax. Things like that happen. I’ll keep moving forward and get back to doing what I do: catching footballs, scoring touchdowns and get back to work.”
In his absence, the Giants managed to get past NFC West powerhouse Seattle 44-7 Sunday.
