Jackson Wills Rams To 17-10 Victory
Steven Jackson did want to lose Sunday. He just didn’t.
So Jackson put the Rams on his massive shoulders and carried them to a 17-10 victory at Detroit.
The Lions put their entire defensive focus on No. 39, but it didn’t matter. They knew he was coming, but it didn’t matter.
Jackson ran over, through and around the Lions for 166 total offensive yards. And he personally delivered the victory at the end, plowing 25 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 1 minute, 38 seconds left.
This game offered lots of highlights (Josh Brown’s TD pass on a fake field goal) and lowlights (James Butler intercepting a pass in the end zone, running it , then running it back in for a safety.).
The Rams defense earned a bunch of big stops. Quarterback Marc Bulger was generally accurate in the passing game.
The offensive line did a nice job, despite missing right guard Richie Incognito and losing left field Jacob Bell to a pinched never.
The Rams did some bad things, too, like Bulger’s interception at the line of scrimmage, the litany of bad penalties, the many dropped passes and cornerback Ron Bartell getting beat deep again and again.
In the end, though, this was all about Jackson. He DID NOT WANT TO LOSE.
He broke tackle after tackle after tackle, refusing to give in to the circumstances.
So the 17-game losing streak is over. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo has his first victory.
The Rams are no longer the worst team in the NFL. This team goes into the bye week feeling good for a change, believing that maybe, just maybe, this organization may finally have found its turning point.

Good grief it was the Lions
Ha, remember who we were playing…
Look, if you guys need an editor, I’ll do it for less than whatever you’re paying the guy now.
So the Rams beat the Detroit Lions. What do they want, a trophy? Big flippin’ deal…
You have to start somewhere. It might as well be the Lions. Now maybe people can return to thinking the Lions are the worst team in the league or whomever is still 0-fer.
Finally!! I got say, even when it was 4th and 20, I was thinking the Rams were gonna screw it up. Whew.
Rams win the pennant!!!!! Rams win the pennant!!!! Oops. Anyhoo, there’s the “un-experienced” Lions vs. the “veteran filled” Rams in their respective skill positions. Honestly, they (the Rams) are sussposed to win. I am grateful however. Congrats to Spags and staff. Hopefully this is a turning point of this franchise. pEaCe. P.S. all of you guys saying “NO BIG DEAL” wanted to be the one saying “Ha Ha, they lost to Linehan and the Lions!!!” Well guess what. THE JOKES ON YOU GUYS!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all we r going to do is start another losing streak
This organization may finally found its turning point?????? I thought Bryan Burwell was bad, but Jeff Gordon this takes journalism to a new low. My gosh the Rams took until 1:38 left in the game to beat that bastion of NFL talent called The Detroit Lions. Its kind of like Missouri beating Colorado, BIG DEAL!
“The offensive line did a nice job, despite missing right guard Richie Incognito and losing left field Jacob Bell to a pinched never.”
Is this the typo of the day?
Don’t mean to be pointing out every little mistake but this one was funny.
Have you ever had a “pinched never” or a left fielder in football?
