Illinois Has Broken Missouri’s Spirit

Here is another snap shot of the Mizzou futility: Justin Stafford missed a 15-foot jumper, then got another chance when the Tigers fetched the offensive board.

Stafford charged down the lane, took the pass, rose for the dunk . . . and left the ball on the front rim.

This is getting uglier by the minute. The Illini keep clicking, getting sweet plays like Trent Meacham’s baseline floater, and Missouri keeps messing up.

The Tigers’ body language tells the story. Heads are down, shoulders are sagging. At 60-36, they are done.

The only thing left for them in this game is the opportunity to clean up the score a bit for the computers.
