The Tigers missed their last nine shots of the first half. Freshman guard Marcus Denmon tacked on two missed free throws at the end.

What a disaster for Mizzou. The Tigers committed 10 first-half turnovers, scored a season low of 16 points and and fell behind by 14 points.

KU did a stellar job pressuring Missouri on the perimeter and jarring the ball loose when the Tigers tried to attack the basket. Except for one brief stretch, the Tigers did a poor job feeding the post as well.

Senior forward Leo Lyons had a dreadful half in his final home game against Kansas. He missed four of five shots and scored just two points.

Had the Jayhawks shot the ball better themselves, this would have turned into an epic blowout. KU missed 22 of their 34 shots from the field, including 10 of 12 from three-point range.

And still they led by 14 points. Mike Anderson attributed the first-half struggle to nerves, but isn’t it late in the season for that?
