Tigers Keep Clawing

The Tigers are scrambling now. J.T. Tiller buried a stop-and-pop jumper, but then drew his fourth foul on the ensuing press.

Now the teams are trading shots. Justin Safford kept the Tigers alive with a difficult tip-in, then a slick drive and hook play — using his lefthanded game to full advantage.

The latter basket kept the Tigers within three points, at 70-67,

But then the Tigers bogged down. Tiller missed a forced baseline jumper, then fouled out.

And that was pretty much that.

Well, I certainly agree about the shooting and especially free throws. However, the offiating was FAR too one-sided to call it even. That alone will disrupt a team. UConn took so many stept it looked like a “So You Think You Can Dance” try-out—yet, there were few calls. Offensive fouls were practically non-extant. There were many reasons that Mixzou lost, but definitely officiating played a part.
