Redskins Spoil Daniel’s Fun
Under better circumstances, this would be a fun day for former Mizzou star Chase Daniel. The record-setting Tigers quarterback would enjoy the Missouri-Illinois game as few others could.
But the Redskins cut Chase after he took a spirited run at the third quarterback job. There is a chance Washington could keep him around as a practice squad player — should he clear waivers — but it appears the Redskins will seek a veteran to fill the No. 3 role.
Colt Brennan, incumbent No. 3 quarterback, appeared headed for injured reserve. He suffered a hip injury that plagued him for much of the preseason. That contributed to his erratic play.
