‘Amazing Race’ returns, and soon!

The good news in the early cancellation of “Viva Laughlin” is that CBS has moved up the return of “The Amazing Race” to Sunday, Nov. 4. I wasn’t thrilled with the “Race” at 7 p.m. Sunday, because of football overruns, but it’s better than no “Race” at all.

“If there ever was a season that I consider one of the best, it’s this one,” said Bertram van Munster,” executive producer, director and co-creator. “It’s insanely funny, fast-paced and dramatic all at once.   Teams are in hot pursuit of one another at every location and it’s reality television at its nail-biting best.”

This season, teams will travel approximately 50,000 miles, covering five new countries including Ireland, Lithuania and Croatia.

Frustrating they continue to put this great show on Sunday nights at 7. This really screws up our Tivo…why do they continue to do this? A show like AR should have a night where we don’t have to worry about football going over schedule.

Welcome back, Gail. Yup, I’ve been looking forward to AR also. Best reality show on tv.

I’ve noticed that CBS has scheduled their 3:00 pm NFL game until 6:30 pm on Sunday now. However, did 60 Minutes start on time at 6:30? No.

We all know that the 2:00 minute warning at the end of a game means an extra 15-20 minutes of air time. It seems that Mike Martz isn’t the only coach who has to use every time-out available to him. Then after the game is completed, CBS, FOX, et al have to do their studio thing and tell us all of the scores for the day - after flashing the scores on-screen during the televised game.

Brian is so right about the Tivo comment. There have been times I’ve had to record 2 shows to get just 1 in its entirety. What a pain.
