‘Viva Laughlin’ canceled

Two episodes were plenty for CBS to declare “Viva Laughlin” a failure and cut it loose. Fair trial? Usually, I’d say no — but in this case, I think maybe if I were CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler, I’d have watched the pilot and never put “Viva Laughlin” on the air. What was CBS thinking — that it couldn’t possibly be as bad as it was, or maybe that audiences wouldn’t notice? On Sunday, the second airing got a 3 percent audience share at 7 p.m., and half of those people bailed before the second half-hour.

Still, I know some people who hear this will think: “What?! I liked it! Will we never find out who killed Bernie or Billy or whatever his name was?” Sorry.

I tried watching the first episode and gave up about 15 minutes into it.

I thought the show had promise - but they did need to lose the musical numbers. I would like CBS to tell us who killed Buddy and why.

Looks like the first thing I can delete from my poor overworked DVR without watching it!
